Very well illustrated with perdominantly colour photo's. This book gives in chronlogical order a good review of the tractors produced and used in Eastern Germany. Also a detailed information about different models and the backgrounds of the different factories. The last chapter gives a review of the odd balls and home made tractors that also were widely used to maintain the private premises.

 Fortschritt ZT 304 2WD by Schuco. A very detailed tractor that is nearly all made of metal. The bonnet opens, the doors and also the rear window open. This is the industrial version of the tractor and therefore don't it have a linkage, just a drawbar.

Kirovets K-700T transporter . Articulated tractor. Primarily made of metal, though also some plastic parts. Both cab doors open and the bonnen opens to show the V-12 engine. The Kirovets is a Russian made tractor which in the 70-s and 80-s was the big articulated tractor for the Sowjet farms. The K 700 was also used in different configurations for industrial purposes and large construction sites.

Le Rubuste D4 K 4. A nicely detailed tractor. Made of resin, However wheels can roll.

Belarus MTZ 50. A classic Russian tractor. Primarily made of  resin, so not intended to play with. Wheels roll but it really is made to look at. Has a detailed interior in the cab.

IFA KS07 Rübezahl crawler. Iconic tractor from the days of the EGR.

Horsch K-735 articulated tractor. Based on the legendary Russian Kirovets and in the a990's converted by Horsch in Germany to make it a more comfortable tractor for the driver.  The pivot steering is functional, however certainly not made to play with!

Fortschritt HW 80 HA forage trailer.  A very detailed trailer that is nearly all made of metal. This is a side tipper. The  boards automatically open when the bed tips. Hundreds if not thousands of these trailers were the common outfit on the EGR's cooperative farms.

IFA RS03 Aktivist. A classic EGR tractor. Primarily made of  resin, so not intended to play with. 

In the middle of 1948, a new tractor factory was built on the site of the disassembled Brennabor AG plant in Brandenburg an der Havel. Production started in 1949 with the IFA RS 03/30 Aktivist – a 30 hp standard tractor with a frameless block design. A total of 3761 tractors in this Aktivist series were produced between 1949 and 1952. One of the most striking features of the RS/03 Aktivist was its
unusually high design and its unconventional 2-cylinder V-type engine, whose cylinder heads protruded from the left and right sidesunder the bonnet. It was based on a wood gas tractor from Ohrenstein & Koppel, which was developed at the end of the 1930s. Its successor – the IFA RS04/30 – was produced from 1954 and was East Germany’s first tractor that was not based on a pre-war model.
