Very well illustrated with perdominantly colour photo's. This book gives in chronlogical order a good review of the tractors produced and used in Eastern Germany. Also a detailed information about different models and the backgrounds of the different factories. The last chapter gives a review of the odd balls and home made tractors that also were widely used to maintain the private premises.

 Fortschritt ZT 300 by Schuco. A very detailed tractor that is nearly all made of metal. The bonnet opens, the doors and also the rear window open. The tractor has a Siku compatible linkage.

Belarus MTZ 50. A classic Russian tractor. Primarily made of  resin, so not intended to play with. Wheels roll but it really is made to look at. Has a detailed interior in the cab.

"The Italian firm Lamborghini Trattori was founded in 1948 by Ferruccio Lamborghini,the subsequent founder of Lamborghini Automobili in Pieve di Cento in northern Italy. Following his decision to concentrate on exclusive sports cars at the beginning of the 1970s, Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A. was acquired by SAME in 1973, which incorporated a number of new technologies into its product range. This
included tracked vehicles and a fully synchronised transmission for tractors pioneered by Lamborghini Trattori. The acquisition culminated in the launch of the Lamborghini 1056 – 1556 series of tractors in 1981, which featured technology based on the Hercules 160. The five tractor models in this series were powered by six-cylinder engines. The Lamborghini 1556 was the top-of-the-range model and featured a turbocharger. The five Lamborghini tractors had a horsepower of 105 hp to 155 hp. The transmission was equipped with 12 forwards and 3 reverse gears."

SAME (Società Accomandita Motori Endotermici) was founded in 1942 by the brothers Francesco and Eugenio Cassani in the northern Italian town of Treviglio. Today, SAME belongs to the SDF Group, which also includes the well-known brands Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini, Hürlimann and Grégoire. The Hercules 160 tractor was launched by SAME at the end of the 1970s. It featured a six-cylinder diesel engine with a turbo charger and a 6.2 litre capacity that could deliver 160 hp at 2200 rpm. The Hercules 160 was equipped with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears and was available in a 25 km/h and 30 km/h version. It was produced from 1979 to 1983. SAME also designed an eyecatching gold version of the Hercules 160 for display purposes. Just one copy of this tractor was made, which makes it an excellent candidate for Schuco’s range of limited edition small-series models.

International 4166 4WD. Legendary classic American  tractor!  Pirmarily made of resin and therefore not suitable for children to play with!

The real machine has all wheel steering, this one has not.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, International Harvester (IH) was founded in 1902 following the merger of McCormick Harvesting
Machine Company, Deering Harvester Company, Plano Harvester Co., Milwaukee Harveste Co. and Warder, Bushnell & Glessner Co. In 1908 a
German subsidiary was founded in Neuss, which initially only sold US-imported products from International Harvester. In 1911 the
Neuss-based company started to produce its first agricultural machines, followed by tractors in 1937. The International 4166 Turbo was
a heavy four-wheel drive articulated tractor, which was produced between 1972 and 1976 in the US. Its 7145 ccm 6-cylinder turbo
engine provided 178 hp, which made the 6300 kg tractor a powerful workhorse for its time.

IFA RS03 Aktivist. A classic EGR tractor. Primarily made of  resin, so not intended to play with. 

In the middle of 1948, a new tractor factory was built on the site of the disassembled Brennabor AG plant in Brandenburg an der Havel. Production started in 1949 with the IFA RS 03/30 Aktivist – a 30 hp standard tractor with a frameless block design. A total of 3761 tractors in this Aktivist series were produced between 1949 and 1952. One of the most striking features of the RS/03 Aktivist was its
unusually high design and its unconventional 2-cylinder V-type engine, whose cylinder heads protruded from the left and right sidesunder the bonnet. It was based on a wood gas tractor from Ohrenstein & Koppel, which was developed at the end of the 1930s. Its successor – the IFA RS04/30 – was produced from 1954 and was East Germany’s first tractor that was not based on a pre-war model.
